Greetings!
The so-called rule-based world order since the Second World War has now been totally upended with Trump 2.0’s predatory imperialism. No American ally is spared, let alone adversaries. Meanwhile, China has become the world’s manufacturer and trader par excellence sitting on top of the world’s critical supply and value chains, especially critical processed rare earth elements. As a result, China has shown remarkable resilience and pushback to safeguard its own national interests amidst the Rule of the Jungle. But open global flashpoints remain, over Ukraine, Iran, Gaza, and elsewhere, with China playing a carefully-guarded role.
Before the dust settles, the following may offer some fresh perspectives on where things stand and where they may be heading.
